Target Audience

This activity was developed for primary care physicians and health care professionals in the primary care field who manage patients with HCV and wish to improve standard practice care.

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the epidemiology and natural history of chronic hepatitis C
  • Analyze the increased risk of HCV in persons who use drugs (PWUD)
  • Summarize the CDC and AASLD/IDSA recommendations relating to HCV screening and diagnosis
  • Describe current treatment options for chronic hepatitis C
