Abstract
The first version of expert recommendations on the treatment of chronic hepatitis B (CHB) with interferon (IFN) was issued in 2007.1 Since then, a large number of new data on the treatment of CHB with IFN could be obtained. Therefore, we estalished the second version of and some additions to the expert recommendations in 2010 and 2012 based on the latest data, respectively.2,3 Three versions of "expert recommendations" include the fundamental knowledge on the utility of IFN, refreshing the understanding of individualized IFN therapy for CHB and helping the physicians to follow closely the new scientific achievements and rational application of IFN in clinical practice.
